14th European Nutrition Conference FENS in Belgrade, Serbia

Our clinical researcher Sanne Ahles will present at the 14th European Nutrition Conference, at the Sava Center in Belgrade. Her presentation on how Aronia melanocarpa extract (Brainberry®) supplementation could improve cognitive performance will take place on 15 November in Room 9 from 13:30 till 15:00.

The 15th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health – IPC2022 will be held during 27 – 30 June 2022 in Bratislava. BioActor is an active contributor and confirmed partner of this conference. Hans van der Saag (CEO) will present on our ingredient Naxus®, a prebiotic with metabolic and immune effects, and Yala Stevens (CSO) presents the clinical and mechanistic research on MicrobiomeX® in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients and elderly subjects.

The 15th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health – IPC2022 will be held during 27 – 30 June 2022 in Bratislava.
The IPC conference is the world’s biggest scientific conference that focuses solely on basic and applied research of probiotics, prebiotics, gut microbiota and health. More than 400 scientists from over more than 80 countries have attended the conference last season.
The scientific program will focus on current advances in the research, production and use of probiotics and prebiotics with particular focus on their role in maintaining health and preventing diseases. At IPC, leading scientists from industry and academia present current advances in understanding and influencing the interaction between gut microbiota and human health.
The conference enables the interactive exchange of state-of-the-art knowledge. It is focused on evidence-based benefits, health claims proven in scientific experiments and clinical trials.

Naxus® is a native arabinoxylan extract from the wheat endosperm. It is a powerful and well-tolerated prebiotic with metabolic and immune effects. Due to its complex branched structure, Naxus® is slowly and selectively fermented by multiple species of the microbiota, inducing a remarkable bifidogenic effect without causing gas formation and intestinal discomfort. It induces a remarkable microbiota shift and increased short-chain fatty acids production, with proven effects on immune health and glycemic control.

The International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) is organizing their 19th Annual Conference and Expo. BioActor is an active contributor to this conference and Yala Stevens, our chief scientific officer will present the clinical results on our ingredient WATTS’UP®.
BioActor showcasing WATTS’UP® at the 19th Annual ISSN Conference
The International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) is the world’s leader in providing science-based sports nutrition and supplement information. This year they are organizing their 19th Annual Conference and Expo. Anyone interested in sports science/nutrition can attend!
The conference addresses a diverse audience such as researchers, students, dieticians, sports nutritionists, but also the athletes themselves. Therefore, the conference offers a platform to discuss various hot topics related to sports nutrition, such as sports supplements, elucidation of the physiological mechanisms behind nutraceutical interventions, as well as nutritional effects on performance.
The strength of the annual ISSN conference is that top researchers present on novel paradigms in sports nutrition. Besides, it is also an excellent opportunity to make new contacts and reconnect with colleagues from all over the world.
BioActor is an active contributor to this conference, since Yala Stevens, our chief scientific officer will present the clinical results on our ingredient WATTS’UP®. Title of the study: The effect of citrus flavonoid extract supplementation on anaerobic capacity in moderately trained athletes: a randomized controlled trial.

Previous studies have demonstrated that supplementation with flavonoids from citrus fruits may be an effective strategy to improve exercise performance in male athletes. Repeated intake of 500 mg of a specific citrus fruit extract improved aerobic exercise performance. Also, an increased absolute power output and a decreased oxygen consumption/power ratio were observed.
Yala will be presenting new insights on the beneficial effects of 400 mg and 500 mg citrus fruit extract (WATTS’UP®) supplementation on short-term high-intensity exercise performance. In this study, we used a WinGate protocol, the gold standard for testing high-intensity performance for 92 male and female participants.
